Evaluation of <i>Lemna minor</i> phytoremediation performance for the treatment of dairy wastewater

Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate efficiency Lemna minor purify synthetic dairy wastewater (SDW) and real (RDW), both diluted undiluted. Results showed that significantly reduced electrical conductivity (EC); removal for EC 19.4% in RDW 9.8% SDW. Higher values were recorded (DRDW) (41%) (DSDW) (35.8%). Total suspended solids slightly (14%) SDW (13.5%), compared DSDW (25%) DRDW (29%). Greater removing chemical oxygen demand (60%) (55.5%) (27.6%) (27%). In RDW, nitrogen phosphorus 24.8 37.4% 25 48.6%, respectively, much higher results effluents, 65.4% 63.5% DSDW, but best (78.8%) (87%). elimination all parameters investigated units populated with duckweed control attests effectiveness L. phytoremediation wastewater, especially when reducing primary pollutant load.
